Kris Deutschman is a public affairs and communications strategist.

A former partner with California's prominent political consulting firm, Townsend Raimundo Besler & Usher (TRB&U), Ms. Deutschman recently started her own company, Deutschman Communications Group, and is also a consulting partner of TRB&U.

Corporate positioning, issue advocacy campaigns, statewide public education and media campaigns, and strategic communications programs for public agencies, corporations and nonprofit organizations are her specialty.

Over the past 15 years, Ms. Deutschman has directed statewide and targeted public education, public affairs and crisis communications projects for some of California's highest-profile public policy issues, businesses and industries. 

Kaiser Permanente, Pacific Gas and Electric Company, California Hospital Association, Californians Allied for Patient Protection, California’s bio-tech and pharmaceutical industries, the nation's largest public pension system - CalPERS, California High-Speed Rail Authority, Sierra Pacific Industries, California Forestry Association, Pacific Business Group on Health, and California Association of Physician Groups are among her current and former clients.

Ms. Deutschman started with TRB&U in 1993, becoming partner in 1996.  She established her credentials with a San Francisco-based public relations agency and was a former promotions specialist and on-air personality with a metropolitan public television station.  She started Deutschman Communications Group in December, 2004.

Ms. Deutschman is committed to public service and the local community.  She is a current board member of the Sacramento Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and former board chair of the Sacramento YWCA.  She has provided pro bono consulting services to Make-A-Wish Foundation, Sacramento Urban League, Firefighters Pacific Burn Institute, the Jewish Federation and Habitat for Humanity, among others.

She received her B.A. degree in communications from California State University, Fresno, and is an avid recreational cyclist.
